About Friends of the Greenway

Our Mission:

Friends of the Greenway, Inc. is a non-profit organization that seeks to conserve, improve, and promote the Oconee Rivers Greenway in Athens-Clarke County, Georgia for the benefit of Athens residents and visitors.

Our Vision:

Our vision is to create a better everyday life for the people in our community.

Specific objectives:

• improve health and well-being by increasing Greenway usage
• conserve and sustain Greenway through expansion, education, and advocacy
• cultivate a culture of stewardship for the Greenway
• educate stakeholders about the benefits, ecology, and impact of the Greenway
